There will be a spaghetti dinner fundraiser held at the Eagles Club on Saturday, April 13, at 5 p.m., dinner served at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door A benefit dinner and silent auction will be held for Larry Cunningham on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Coaches Comer, from 2-7 p.m.. He will be traveling to and from Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit, MI, and the fundraiser is for medical and travel expenses. Stephenson honored at NMU Northem Michigan University is pleased to announce that Mitchell Stephenson of Atlanta was selected to re- ceive the Board of Trustees Student Achievement Award for Outstanding Male Graduating Senior for 2013. Mitchell was also chosen to receive the Outstanding Undergraduate Award from the Health, Physical Educa- tion and Recreation Department, where he will be gradu- ating with a degree in Sport Science in May 2013. Mitch has made the Dean's list every term at NMU. In addition to his academics, he was the recipient of NMU's Hardin Scholarship (a full tuition, full room and board, 4 year scholarship), a Freshman Fellowship, Lundin Sum- mer Research Fellowship and an NMU Student Tech- nology Innovation Award. He was lead author of three, and co-authored four biomechanics research papers presented at meetings of the International Society of Biomechanics in Sport, the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference. He is a two time recipient of the Michigan Campus Compact Heart & Soul Award. Mitch plans to attend the University of Wyoming for his Master's Degree to study Kinesiology, and will follow that with a doctorate in Biomechanics. .! i m Planning a raffle?
